New Stripes The fresh fabric trend

There is a fresh new trend this summer. The off the shoulder stripe dress. It has the feel of a deconstructed men's shirt and I love it! I have pulled together a pinterest board for inspiration, take a peek here.

Fancy having a go at your own? You could use my free Bardot top tutorial and lengthen it for a dress (I have done this in a gingham and it is amazing) Find the Free tutorial here.

Here is a selection of our fantastic striped fabrics, which one will you pick?

Luna stripe silk only £10 per metre lightweight pure silk in grey, highlighted with a vibrant coral and lilac stripe, amazing value.

Lines stretch cotton poplin £5 per metre Use this stretch poplin to add some volume and comfort to your dress.

Lulu linen and viscose mix £15 per metre The added viscose in this linen fabric gives it a beautiful soft handle and great drape.

Stripe chambray £9 per metre A classic chambray with a striped twist, a real modern classic.

Andi ponte roma jersey £16 per metre Fancy your dress a bit more body con? Then this thick jersey fabric is for you.

New Thread Theory Menswear Patterns

Ok I admit I am a bit of a selfish sewist. However, now that these great Thread Theory patterns have arrived I'm pretty sure that I will be making more menswear clothes.

The Strathcona Henley T Shirt comes in a button version and a plain T shirt. Perfect for our dark grey Milano jersey.

The Jedediah pants (that's Trousers in the UK!!) are a slim fit chino style with a shorts option. These would look great made in our Herringbone linen.

If your guy prefers a more relaxed fit of trousers then the Jutland pants are the ones to go for. Use our 2 tone red/ black denim, make them a bit longer and make a real feature of that red in a contrast turn up.

The comox trunks (this time they really are pants!) means you can literally dress your man from head to toe.  Use our Venice silk modal jersey for a luxury feel.

Just so us ladies don't feel left out, th lovely lot at Thread Theory have launched the Camas blouse.

See the full range of thread theory patterns here.
