Tailoring is a big trend for AW '16. Lines between masculine and feminine blurring with boxy suit jackets, cropped trousers and over the knee skirts seen at design houses such as Burberry and Margaret Howell. Think part British countryside, part school uniform and part Dandy.
Take a twist on the normal with subtle flashes of colour in your suiting. The best bit? All of these suiting fabrics are only £8 per metre.
Nancy is a cotton and wool fabric in black shot with a rich red. Release you inner Dandy in a pair of slim fitting trousers and a boxy jacket.
Pernod is a classic grey and light blue pinstripe with a twist. Woven in cotton with a slightly disheveled finish this fabric would make a brilliant pinafore like the Beatrice.
Ican stripe is a black and navy suiting fabric that I would love to see made into a pair of wide legged trousers like these.
Byrdes has a small birdseye pattern in blue and black. Make yourself a Joan dress for the ultimate in 40's glamour.
Why not make yourself a dark shirt to go with your new suit in our navy poplin or black cotton lawn?
If casual is more your thing then we have also added this super snuggly fleece backed sweatshirt fabric that has just arrived. In a wonderful claret colour it jumped straight to the top of my autumn colour palette.
Happy sewing xxx
