My Kimono

Kimonos are a huge trend this year, pop one on over a little top and jeans and you instantly feel glamorous (even if you are just going to Sainsburys).

I made mine using the Suki Kimono pattern (only available as a class) and the Ottanta viscose crepe.

The fabric was very lightweight, moved about a fair bit and frayed easily so I used French seams and hand-stitched the front facing. I also lengthened the pattern a bit to make a more flowing kimono. If you want to learn how to handle lightweight fabrics and make your own Suki we still have a couple of places left on our Suki kimono class. It's on the on the 21st August at our Hove studio, if you want to join us book here

Here are some other fabrics that would make a beautiful Kimono.

Carrie viscose crepe

Pidi Ikat woven viscose

Meadow stretch viscose

Blossom viscose

Butterfly viscose
