Denim is awesome. It's so versatile and suits everyone. We've got some amazing new denim fabric in stock from embossed stretch denim to a velvet denim. Yes, you read right, velvet denim!!

Here are my favorites as well as some ideas of what you could make with them, want even more inspiration? Check out the Pinterest board I started a while ago.

Our classic 8oz denim is perfect for jeans and fitted denim skirts and comes in light blue, blue and indigo.  We have now added a 4oz denim which is ideal for shirts, gathered skirts and dresses.

Fancy a spot on your denim? Then our flocked polka dot denim or spotty stretch denim should be right up your street.

If you are more of a patterned person then we have 2 stretch denims with embossed patterns in damask and paisley.

For something more daring why not check out our denim velvet and denim jersey!

My favourite denim patterns...

The perfect skinny jeans made from the spotty denim using Jamie Jeans from Named Patterns.

Boyfriend jeans more your style? Try the Wyome Boyfriend jeans from Named Patterns in the light blue 8oz denim.

For a slim denim skirt you can't go wrong with Tilly & The Buttons Arielle in the barkweave stretch denim.

This Grainline Studio Alder shirtdress is on my wishlist in the 4oz indigo denim.

TIME TO GET COSY (and a thank you)

Ok, let's start with the fact that I'm going to mention that our summer is on its last legs and it will soon be 'snuggling in front of the fire' season. All of you who are still in the last few sunny days of denial, hide your eyes now! For those of you ready to face the future we have got something to make it wonderful and cosy. You'll be wishing for cloudy skies just so you get a chance to wear one of these scrummy jacquard jersey knits!

Want to know what to make with these fabrics why not try a Mabel skirt from Colette?

Or how about an autumn cover up with the Lark Maxi Cardigan from Jamie Christina?

Also a HUGE Thank You to everybody that made our open day on Saturday. The day started with a bang and queueing almost out the door as people raced to get their hands on the fabric. At one point we nearly had a fight over some of the Italian wool! But luckily there was just enough on the roll to keep everyone happy. The Marin jersey proved a huge hit and I can't wait to see all your makes on Instagram Facebook Twitter or whatever platform you choose to share on. The coffees, teas and cakes made over £100 which will go to Unicef. A special thank you to Zoe from SoZo who was my right hand lady for the day, Mum, Grandma, Mullins and The Fabric Godfather. Without you all,  I could not have pulled the whole thing off. And lastly an apology to anyone who turned up at the end of the day as somebody had locked the doors, I'm so glad you made it through Claire and sorry to anyone who left without getting in. To all of you who asked, yes we will be doing it again...

I am always sharing lots of beautiful patterned fabrics with you florals, polka dots, zig zag stripes, you name it we stock it! But lets stop and spend some time looking at some of the beautiful plain fabrics we have as well.
This week I got 2 new plain peachskin fabrics in bright colours and it made me think plain can be just as bold as a pattern.

The Agatha peachskin comes in coral and fuchsia and has a lovely soft finish I can only describe as a matte sheen. I would use this fabric for a Bettine from Tilly & the buttons as the drape and colour would make this simple pattern really pop. Or you could make a blouse like the Keana from Named patterns that would see you through to Autumn (yes I really did just mention that, summer will not last forever!!)

We have got some lovely new trims on the website. Giant pom pom trim can be a cute or even sexy addition to many garments and accessories. Why not make a scarf out of a light cotton lawn and add a bright pom pom trim? You could also add it along the frill of an off the shoulder top like my Bardot top, see how to make yours here.

Our long fringe trim is a whopping 30cm long. Use this along the sleeves of a LBD or to trim the bottom of a Kimono top.
