If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that I went to Italy last month to stock up on more of those wonderful Italian end of roll designer fabrics for you! We have fabric from Etro, Pucci, Prada, Blu Marine and many more.
Including a selection of amazing silk fabrics. These are so stunning and as always with these Italian fabrics we only have a limited amount of them so once they are gone they are gone.

This Plaure floral silk is printed onto a fabulous quality silk that has a bit of body to it making it perfect for a fit and flare dress, a skirt or a semi fitted jacket.

Gingham is beautiful, I spent a bit of time on Pinterest (like you do) looking for gingham inspiration. Long gone are the days of gingham looking like my school uniform dress (pink and white in case you were wondering) Now gingham is sassy, sexy and cool.

I have pulled together a board with some of the best ideas and images I found for you to get excited about. Why was I doing all this I hear you ask?? Well we have just taken delivery of some delightful 1" gingham. It is a poly cotton mix but is so soft it feels like 100% cotton. The best bit is is only £3.75 per metre so you have a money saving green light to make a really full dress or skirt.

In the summer there is nothing more comfortable than a simple shift dress. I made this one using our haze crepe with an old Simplicity pattern that is now out of print. It was called the 2 hour shift, but as I had made it before I managed to knock mine up in 57 minutes!

If you fancy having a go at a simple shift dress you could use either the Colette Laurel Pattern or the Sew Over It Ultimate Shift Dress Pattern for similar styles. As for fabric choices there are so many.

During Me Made May I realised that I love sewing dresses but I mostly wear separates.  Time to get the sewing machine out! I love simple clothes no frills, flounces or puffy bits for me, it is all about clean lines. The Scout T Shirt from Grainline  Studio looked like it was going to tick all of the boxes.

I couldn't decide if I wanted the cotton lawn elephants or the crepe parrots (also available in coral) so I took to Instagram to decide. (Thank you to everyone who commented, if you don't already follow me you can do so here)

What do you think? The pattern is really easy, great for beginners. I can see myself making a few more of these maybe in the elephant cotton lawn...next I need to pluck up the courage to make myself some jeans! Anybody got any good recommendations for a jeans pattern, skinny(ish) with plenty of room from my bum?
