Wax print dress

I have been teasing you all with a sneak of my new wax print dress for a while (it is on the dressmaker model in my profile pictures).
Now at least I am revealing the finished dress.

Ta Da....

I love using the African wax prints that I talked about in a previous blog with classic simple shapes like the Colette Peony (as we all know by now my favourite dress pattern of the moment)
I also think they make great wash bags or cushion covers.
Here are some of my favourites:

  1. That's lovely - I love batik patterns and they do make interesting dresses.

  2. Lovely. How do you wash them?

    1. I just pop them in the machine on a 30 wash. I ALWAYS pre wash before sewing though as they have quite a lot of dressing on them and they may shrink. (though the one I made this dress out of didn't) Better safe than sorry!
